Peters Named 2008 MS Corporate Achiever HARTFORD, Conn. The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Connecticut Chapter has named Christopher M. Peters, a financial advisor with Wachovia Securities, a 2008 MS Corporate Achiever — one of only 12 leaders within the Hartford region to be so named. A resident of Hartford, Conn., Peters received his Bachelor of Arts degree in communications from Roger Williams University in Bristol, R.I., in 1994. Peters has been with Wachovia Securities, 185 Asylum St. in Hartford, Conn., for a year. “I have chosen to join the National MS Society Connecticut chapter because the organization has a dedicated and passionate mission with a rich history of helping those with multiple sclerosis seek out the best in cutting-edge research in the ultimate goal of finding a cure, all the while making life for those with MS, as comfortable as possible,” says Peters. Peters has worked the last 10 years as owner and operator of three restaurants: South City Café from 1997-2001, Mayor Mike’s from 2004 to present and Sweet Jane’s Rock & Roll Eatery from 2006 to present. Established by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Connecticut Chapter in 2000, MS Corporate Achievers is a recognition program honoring some of Connecticut’s most influential leaders while at the same time raising critically needed funds to ensure ongoing scientific research and the continuation of vital programs and services offered by the chapter to the more than 6,000 Connecticut residents diagnosed with MS. Honorees are nominated by their peers and selected by an advisory council board for making outstanding contributions to business, civic and cultural enrichment. Through participation, honorees join an elite leadership network sharing a commitment to making Connecticut a better place in which to live.
