Yale Named 2008 MS Corporate Achiever

SOUTHINGTON, Conn. — The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Connecticut Chapter has named Andrew M. Yale, financial advisor at UBS Financial Services Inc, a 2008 MS Corporate Achiever — one of only 18 leaders within the New Haven region to be so named.

A resident of Southington, Conn., Yale received his bachelor’s of business administration degree in 1993 and received his master’s of business administration in finance in 1997 from the University of Miami, Coral Gables, Fla. Yale works at UBS Financial Services Inc., 265 Church Street, New Haven, Conn. He provides individuals and businesses with customized retirement planning, investment and insurance solutions.

Yale.Andrew“My wife’s family has been deeply affected by multiple sclerosis,” says Yale. “Her uncle was diagnosed with MS 40 years ago and passed away last year. Unfortunately, he spent the last 20 years of his life in a hospital bed and had no quality of life. By getting involved now, I want to help prevent others from experiencing the debilitating effects of multiple sclerosis and one day find a cure.”

Yale is a member of the Southington and New Haven Chambers of Commerce. He serves as a volunteer to the Amistad Academy in New Haven, Conn., the Greater Hartford Jewish Federation and the American Red Cross in his spare time.

Established by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Connecticut Chapter in 2000, MS Corporate Achievers is a recognition program honoring some of Connecticut’s most influential leaders while at the same time raising critically needed funds to ensure ongoing scientific research and the continuation of vital programs and services offered by the chapter to the more than 6,000 Connecticut residents diagnosed with MS. Honorees are nominated by their peers and selected by an advisory council board for making outstanding contributions to business, civic and cultural enrichment.

Through participation, honorees join an elite leadership network sharing a commitment to making Connecticut a better place in which to live. Since 2000 honorees have raised nearly $550,000 to help end the devastating effects of multiple sclerosis.

“Mr. Yale is truly an effective leader throughout his community,” said Lisa Gerrol, Connecticut Chapter president and chief professional officer. “He is committed to raising funds in the fight against MS and devoted to elevating life within the New Haven region, his hometown of Southington and the state.”
