Venoit Named 2008 MS Corporate Achiever

WALLINGFORD, Conn. The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Connecticut chapter has named Wendy Kennedy Venoit, a partner at Pepe & Hazard, LLP, a 2008 MS Corporate Achiever one of only 12 leaders within the Hartford region to be so named.

veniot, wendy kennedyA resident of Wallingford, Conn., Venoit received her Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and Spanish from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass., in 1993 and earned her Juris Doctorate cum laude at Pace University School of Law in White Plains, N.Y. where she was valedictorian in 1996. Venoit has been a partner at Pepe & Hazard, LLP, 225 Asylum Street in Hartford, Conn., for nine years.

“The MS Society is an extremely worthy cause and one that I am proud to be a part of,” says Venoit. “Through the encouragement of my former partner and friend — and fellow 2008 Corporate Achiever Award Recipient — Jennifer Cox, I have learned so much about the unpredictable and debilitating effects of multiple sclerosis.”
Venoit was named a recipient of the Hartford Business Journal’s Forty under 40 “up and coming” executives award in 2007. She is the president of the Professional Women in Construction CT Chapter and a board member of the Amistad America Golf Classic. She is involved in many professional activities including the American Bar Association and Connecticut Bar Association, and is an advisory board member of the Institute for Transnational Arbitration.

Established by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Connecticut Chapter in 2000, MS Corporate Achievers is a recognition program honoring some of Connecticut’s most influential leaders while at the same time raising critically needed funds to ensure ongoing scientific research and the continuation of vital programs and services offered by the chapter to the more than 6,000 Connecticut residents diagnosed with MS. Honorees are nominated by their peers and selected by an advisory council board for making outstanding contributions to business, civic and cultural enrichment.

Through participation, honorees join an elite leadership network sharing a commitment to making Connecticut a better place in which to live. Since 2000 honorees have raised nearly $550,000 to help end the devastating effects of multiple sclerosis.

“Ms. Venoit is truly an effective leader within Pepe & Hazard, LLP, and throughout her community,” said Lisa Gerrol, Connecticut Chapter president and chief professional officer. “She is committed to raising funds in the fight against MS, and devoted to elevating life within the Hartford region, her hometown of Wallingford and the state.”
