Robert Simione Named 2008 MS Corporate Achiever

CHESHIRE, Conn. - The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Connecticut Chapter has named Robert J. Simione, principal of Simione Consultants LLC, a 2008 MS Corporate Achiever — one of only 18 leaders within the New Haven region to be so named.

A resident of Cheshire, Conn., Simione received his Bachelor of Science degree in business administration at Villanova University in Villanova, Pa., in 1971. Simione has been at Simione Consultants LLC, 4130 Whitney Ave., Hamden, Conn., for the past 35 years.

“My family and I have seen this disease affect two people who mean the world to us, my sister-in law and niece,” says Simione. “By working with my brothers, we have been able to raise funds to benefit and ensure ongoing research for those battling the effects of multiple sclerosis.”

Simione is a member of the Home Care Alliance of Massachusetts, National Association for Home Care & Hospice, Home Care Association of New York, and the Connecticut Association for Home Care. Simione is also a board manager at the Cheshire Community YMCA and is an active member in the Fund Raising Committee for Simione Consultants LLC. In 2005 Simione received the “Home Care Champions” award for the Home & Health Care Association of Massachusetts.

Established by the Chapter in 2000, MS Corporate Achievers is a recognition program honoring some of Connecticut’s most influential leaders while at the same time raising critically needed funds to ensure ongoing scientific research and the continuation of vital programs and services offered by the chapter to the more than 6,000 Connecticut residents diagnosed with MS. Honorees are nominated by their peers and selected by an advisory council board for making outstanding contributions to business, civic and cultural enrichment.

Through participation, honorees join an elite leadership network sharing a commitment to making Connecticut a better place in which to live. Since 2000 honorees have raised nearly $550,000 to help end the devastating effects of multiple sclerosis.

“Mr. Simione is truly an effective leader throughout his community,” said Lisa Gerrol, Connecticut Chapter president and chief professional officer. “He is committed to raising funds in the fight against MS and devoted to elevating life within the New Haven region, his hometown of Cheshire and even the state.”
