Tatta Named 2008 MS Corporate Achiever

NORTH HAVEN, Conn. - The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Connecticut Chapter has named Stephanie Tatta, a speech-language pathologist at Wallingford Public Schools, a 2008 MS Corporate Achiever one of only 18 leaders within the New Haven region to receive this distinction.

A resident of North Haven, Conn., Tatta received her Bachelor of Science degree in communication disorders from the University of Rhode Island in Kingston, R.I., in 2002, and her Master of Science degree in Stephanie TattaCommunication Disorders from Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven, Conn., in 2004.

“The fight against multiple sclerosis is important to me because I have family and friends who have been diagnosed with this disease,” said Tatta. “I hope that some day soon research will find a cure for this debilitating disease.”

Tatta volunteers at the North Haven Animal shelter and participates in Relay for Life and the Walk for Autism.

Established by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Connecticut Chapter in 2000, MS Corporate Achievers is a recognition program honoring some of Connecticut’s most influential leaders while at the same time raising critically needed funds to ensure ongoing scientific research, and the continuation of vital programs and services offered by the chapter to the more than 6,000 Connecticut residents diagnosed with MS. Honorees are nominated by their peers and selected by an advisory council board for making outstanding contributions to business, civic and cultural enrichment.

Through participation, honorees join an elite leadership network sharing a commitment to making Connecticut a better place in which to live. Since 2000 honorees have raised nearly $550,000 to help end the devastating effects of multiple sclerosis.

“Ms. Tatta is truly an effective leader within the Wallingford Public Schools and throughout her community,” said Lisa Gerrol, Connecticut Chapter president and chief professional officer. “She is committed to raising funds in the fight against MS and devoted to elevating life within the New Haven region, her hometown of North Haven and the state.”
