Walk 2008 Ribbon Cutting

READY, SET ... WALK! -- Cheshire resident Dr. Bill Petit cuts the ribbon with event spokesperson Ciara Rivera, 18, at the 2008 Walk MS Sunday, May 4, at Cheshire High School. Petit, whose wife Jennifer battled MS, walked with the Precious Petit team, established by Jamie Erickson, 16; Liz Thompson, 14; and her younger sister Kathryn, 11. Rivera, who last year attended the event in a wheelchair on a day pass from Children’s Medical Center, was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis when she was just 16 years old. The prize deadline for meeting or exceeding fundraising goals for the Travelers Walk MS extends through Monday, June 2. The chapter expects to raise $1.5 million this year, $400,000 more than that raised last year. For more information, please visit http://www.ctfightsms.org/ or call 1-800-FIGHT MS.
