“Eighteen Hundred Band is ready to rock this roast,” says Chris “Turk” Turkington, band frontman. “We’re about community and supporting causes. The Iron Maidens in the fight against MS is definitely a worthy cause of which we want to support.”

More than 6,000 Connecticut residents live with the unpredictable effects of multiple sclerosis 4000,000 nationwide. The cause is unknown and there currently is no cure. Funds raised through chapter events, such as the MS Motorcycle Ride, ensure ongoing scientific research to find a cure and provide for vital programs and services offered by the Greater Connecticut Chapter to residents diagnosed with MS.

The HOG Wild event will feature a pig roast with the all the "fixins," Miller Lite, courtesy of Rogo Distributors, live bands and an acoustic performance by Sean Rivers Music and a Bike Night contest hosted by Full Throttle Magazine. The roast will also feature a 50/50 drawing, give-a-ways, drawings for prizes and much more.

Last year’s benefit ride attracted more than 1,200 bikers and raised more than $42,000. The 2008 MS Motorcycle Ride will start and finish this year at Cadillac Ranch in Southington, Conn., Sunday, July 20. Details can be found at http://www.ctfightsms.org/.

Hailing from Manchester, 1800 Band performs favorite rock and country covers from the ’80s, ’90s and today.

“The Iron Maidens team is thrilled to have 1800 Band on board,” says Karen Butler, Manchester resident and Iron Maidens team captain. “Ron, Ross, Turk and Steve will no doubt ramp up this biker bash all the more.”

The Iron Maidens’ HOG Wild Pig Roast will be held at Spare Time/City Sports Grille, located at 177 Farmington Ave., in Bristol, Conn., Saturday, May 17, from 5 to 11 p.m. The fee is $25. In the case of rain, the event will be held on Saturday, May 31.
