More than 6,000 Connecticut residents are affected by multiple sclerosis (MS), a potentially debilitating disease affecting the central nervous system. The cause is unknown, and, as a result, there is currently no cure for MS. Connecticut residents can help end the devastating effects of MS. The 2006 event raised a record $230,000, the largest amount raised in its 25-year history. Funds raised through participation in chapter events, such as the bkm/Steelcase MS Bike Tour, ensure ongoing scientific research to find a cure and provide for the continuation of vital programs and services offered by the chapter to those in Connecticut affected by MS.

Pre-registration for the tour is preferred and available online at http://www.ctfightsms.org/. On-site registration begins at the following times:

      .     6:30 a.m. for 100-mile route. Start time is scheduled for 7 a.m.
·     8:30 a.m. for 50-mile route. Start time is scheduled for 9 a.m.
·     9:30 a.m. for 25-mile route. Start time is scheduled for 10 a.m.
·   10:30 a.m. for 10-mile route. Start time is scheduled for 11 a.m.
·   11:30 a.m. for 2-mile route. Start time is scheduled for noon.

Volunteers are needed for set-up, rest stop duties, photography and clean-up.
