FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Connecticut Broadcast Personalities Named 2007 Grand Marshals
WINDSOR, Conn. The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Greater Connecticut Chapter is gearing up to host the 26th annual bkm/Steelcase MS Bike Tour, presented by Saab, to be held Sunday, June 3, at Griffin Land in Windsor, Conn. Cyclists select from 2-, 10-, 25-, 50- or 100-mile routes. Good Morning Connecticut anchor Darren Kramer, WTNH News Channel 8, and WRCH Lite 100.5 personality Mike Stacy have been named grand marshals and will host start and finish line festivities.
More than 6,000 Connecticut residents are affected by multiple sclerosis (MS), a potentially debilitating disease affecting the central nervous system. The cause is unknown, and, as a result, there is currently no cure for MS. Connecticut residents can help end the devastating effects of MS. The 2006 event raised a record $230,000, the largest amount raised in its 25-year history. Funds raised through participation in chapter events, such as the bkm/Steelcase MS Bike Tour, ensure ongoing scientific research to find a cure and provide for the continuation of vital programs and services offered by the chapter to those in Connecticut affected by MS.
Pre-registration for the tour is preferred and available online at http://www.ctfightsms.org/. On-site registration begins at the following times:
