FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Plantsville Residents Named 2006 Volunteers Of The Year PLANTSVILLE, “Ms. Roucoulet and Ms. Martin have had a relationship with the National MS Society for nearly 20 years,” said Susan Raimondo, community programs director. “Ms. Roucoulet’s daughter was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis shortly after graduating from high school, and the effects of her disease now confine her to a wheelchair. Soon after, Ms. Roucoulet and Ms. Martin began volunteering for the MS Walk and MS Bike Tour, and they have also been an important part of the registration process at the West Hartford MS Walk site.” Most recently, Roucoulet and Martin donated their time, materials, energy and creativity by sewing more than 200 brightly patterned hand-sewn wheelchair bags, which were given as gifts to nursing home residents with MS.
